An overly jealous boyfriend is only funny in movies. Girlfriends who have to deal with guys like this have to endure manipulative and over-possessive behavior. This can be suffocating and irritating. It can also be ultimately insulting. Because of this, the relationship can be strained. A relationship that is no longer fun and trusting can be very difficult to maintain.

Talk to your boyfriend

Have a heart-to-heart talk with your boyfriend. Tell him that his jealousy is making you feel not just uncomfortable but downright unhappy. Ask him about his side, as well. Maybe you are unknowingly doing some things that can make a man jealous.

Reassure your boyfriend

If you want to save your relationship, reassure your boyfriend about your commitment. Make him feel secure about his place in your heart. If he continues being irrationally jealous, maybe it is time to let go. You may both just end up very unhappy. If you want to hold on, you can try couples’ counseling.
