How to Beat the Green-eyed Monster in You
Jealousy can destroy a relationship just as much as real infidelity can. The extreme end of it, which you may call the green-eyed monster, is sometimes a sign of something much more serious. It may be a sign of possessiveness, insecurity, and past relationship problems. If you are constantly jealous of your partner, you should find ways to manage your emotions before your worst fears come true.
Managing yourself
Get to the root of your jealousy problem. Ask yourself if there is a reason for your jealousy. Maybe your partner is really showing signs and you are just being logical. Present the situation to a trusted, unbiased friend and get her opinion. Think of your personal reasons for being jealous. Maybe you are punishing your present partner for your ex’s fault.
Seeking help
If your problem is deeply-rooted, you should consult a counselor. Maybe past relationships have severely wounded you, causing you to ruin your present relationship without meaning to. Another reason for consulting a counselor is if your jealousy is rooted from insecurity and extreme fear of being abandoned.
